United Airlines has recently launched a completely new meal concept in its United Club lounges. The focus is on fresh ingredients, variety and quality. The new concept will gradually replace the previous selection of food, and the first lounge to receive the new initiative is the United Club at Chicago O'Hare.
After Chicago, the new food program will be introduced at the major airports in the US, and by the end of summer of 2015 it will be available in Houston, Denver, New York, Newark, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington Dulles. By the end of the year, the concept will be implemented in all United Club lounges worldwide. All food is included in the lounge visit. The cuisine varies according to time of day. In the morning, for example, you may find Greek vanilla yogurt, scones, milk and cereal, bagels, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal and fresh fruit. In the afternoon, one will find, for example, hummus, salad with varying content, soup, dried fruit, bread and brownies. During 2015, United will also introduce a new premium range of drinks for sale in the lounges, which will include beer, wine and liquors. Among the brands, one will find Laurent Perrier Champagne and wines from the Trinchero Family Estates.
