by BusinessClass

In February 2013, American Airlines and US Airways announced their intention to merge and form, not only the largest US airline, but also the world's largest airline. Two and a half years later and it is time for the final steps in the merger.

On October 17, all existing bookings with US Airways will be transferred to American Airlines. From the same date, all flights will operate under the flag of American Airlines, thus officially ending US Airways' existence. For passengers who have existing bookings, all details will be automatically updated with the correct flight number.
