Vietnam Airlines' first Airbus A350 has received its final coat of paint in the factory in Toulouse. Now all that remains are the final installations and tests on the ground and in the air before the aircraft is ready for delivery this summer. Vietnam Airlines is the second airline to fly with the Airbus A350 after Qatar Airways.

The seat type is Sogerma Solstys, made by EADS, a seat which is today used by Thai Airways in their business class on flights to Europe, among others. Etihad also use this seat. The configuration is 1-2-1 with the seats arranged in a zigzag. This means that all passengers have direct access to the aisle. The seat is horizontal (fully flat) when fully reclined. The meal table is fixed to the back of the seat in front, and on the side of the seat there is a small table for reading materials, plates and glasses, for example.

Further back in the aircraft you will find both premium economy and regular economy. Not many details have been released as of yet, but economy class is expected to have nine seats across in a 3-3-3 configuration. The Airbus A350 does have space for ten seats across, but not Vietnam Airlines nor any of the other two airlines receiving delivery of the Airbus A350 in 2015 have chosen to squeeze in the extra seat. This means relatively broad seats in economy.

The maiden voyage is scheduled for 30th September 2015, however, this can of course be changed.
