On September 21, W Hotels will open the doors to the trendy new W Amsterdam in the heart of Amsterdam’s cultural centre. The 238 room property will offer 21 contemporary suites, two restaurants, a spa, and 414 square metres of ultra-modern meeting and event space.

W Hotels is a part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc, and proclaims itself as a “lifestyle brand”. The W Amsterdam aims to be a “hotspot to connect and exchange” and to “transform the Dutch hotel scene with its cutting-edge design.”

W Amsterdam - Wonderful Room W Amsterdam is located between the renowned Dam Square and the city’s canal district, right behind the Royal Palace, and is comprised of two iconic buildings: the ‘Exchange’ and the ‘Bank’. The hotel’s lobby, W Lounge, is found on the sixth floor of the exchange building and boasts 360-degree views of the city. W Lounge will feature an original drinks menu specially created by the Fabulous Shaker Boys.

Igor Buercher

, General Manager W Amsterdam, said: “Since its early days as a global trade and shipping hub, Amsterdam has served as a switchboard of cultures and avant-garde ideas. We are excited to unveil W Amsterdam and introduce the brand’s signature style and contemporary design to the Dutch capital. The hotel will also reinforce Amsterdam’s reputation as a city of exchange, bringing new and exciting experiences from the world of fashion, design and music to global travellers and local trendsetters.” Alongside the W Lounge is one of the hotel’s two restaurants, MR PORTER, which will offer a modern take on a steakhouse while providing a cutting edge, rooftop-dining experience.  THE DUCHESS, which opened in June to positive reviews, is a more elegant restaurant, combining London Heritage with Viennese grandeur and offers a wide selection of vermouths, cocktails and champagnes. Both restaurants are operated by The Entourage Group.
