Low-cost Icelandic airline Wow Air will launch services to Los Angeles and San Francisco next summer.
The routes will be served by three new A330-300s with 340 economy seats on board in a single-class layout. Reykjavik - LAX will operate four-times weekly, whilst Reykjavik - San Francisco will operate five-times weekly.Flight times are currently unavailable and tickets go on sale in January. Skuli Mogensen, Wow Air's founder and CEO, said: "With the addition of these long-range A330-300 aircraft to our fleet, we will be able to offer fares from Europe to the West Coast of the United/Washington States far cheaper than our competitors whilst maintaining great service with a smile. This is a game changer for Wow air as we cement ourselves as the industry leader in the ultra-low-cost long-haul category.” Th new routes will bring the number of North American destinations served by Wow Airlines from its Reykjavik hub to six - Wow currently flies to Baltimore and Boston in the US, and will launch services to the Canadian cities of Montreal and Toronto in May.
