1 Hotel Toronto is new to the city’s hospitality scene. It opened its doors in August 2021, adding a touch of sustainable green flair to the King West neighbourhood. The sixth property in the growing 1 Hotels portfolio and the first in Canada, the hotel is eco-friendly, nature-inspired, and community-oriented. Designed by top architecture firm Rockwell Group, the designers have brought the Canadian outdoors indoors, with glacier-carved stone, reclaimed barn wood and over 3,000 plants, including native Ontario species. A clean contemporary style reigns throughout, with white and grey tones, mid-century-modern chairs and grand-scale art installations.

All rooms come with Bluetooth speakers, yoga mats, a minibar bursting with treats and cosy cotton robes A destination in its own right, the hotel serves stylish drinks on the unique wrap-around terrace on Harriet’s Rooftop. Or enjoy a farm-to-table meal at 1 Kitchen. Sustainability practices are standard throughout – tables and benches have been carved from fallen local trees and stamped with their provenance. The lobby bar doubles as a co-working space, while the gym has a climbing wall.  In summer, the rooftop pool is a highlight. The hotel is within walking distance of the landmark CN tower, the Theatre District and Ossington Avenue’s hip restaurants.
