London's legendary luxury hotel Claridge’s has opened its first-ever spa - following a ground-breaking five-floor subterranean excavation below the iconic 210-year-old Mayfair landmark.
At 650 square metres of space, the new Claridge’s Spa will provide an epicentre for wellness, healing rituals, restorative bodywork, and the latest bio-innovation to elevate emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing.
The Spa is located three floors below the hotel’s iconic lobby and was designed by interior architect André Fu, inspired by traditional Japanese temples and Zen gardens in Kyoto. Guests will be greeted by the hand-crafted aroma of Claridge’s custom fragrance and begin a sensory journey of calm serenity enhanced by limestone and wood natural elements and the soothing sounds of flowing water and energy-cleansing music.
The heated electrolyte-rich relaxation pool is at the heart of the spa, framed by an impressive multi-vaulted ceiling and stone columns. Guests can unwind and relax in the privacy of cabanas set back from the water or enjoy the steam rooms and saunas. The spa offers seven luxurious oak-lined treatment rooms with private ensuite facilities.
Treatments begin and end with rituals inspired by temple Koh-do ceremonies. Guests are welcomed with kimonos in soft pink and peach colours, handed a choice of incense, and provided with a foot ceremony before receiving their individually tailored treatments, ended by the sounds of bells.
The spa’s standout collection of curated face and body treatments includes La Eva body treatments, Augustinus Bader body and facial treatments, FaceGym facial treatments and signature treatments of a Bamboo & Silk Ritual and a Body Detox & Sculpt.
Josh Wood at Claridge’s offers best-in-class hairstyling and beauty services at Claridge’s Spa, with hair, nail, beauty, colour, and makeup available upon request – this is a truly private and tailored service with just two chairs available for guests.
Claridge’s Spa is open to hotel guests every day from 8 am to 9 pm. Outside guests are also welcome.
