Dior unveils spa on Royal Scotsman, A Belmond Train

Dior has created a long-term partnership with Royal Scotsman, A Belmond Train with the introduction of the Dior Spa Royal Scotsman. The new Spa is housed in one of the train's lavish carriages.

The move pays tribute to Christian Dior's affinity for Scotland, where he famously hosted a fashion show in 1955. The spa carriage will feature two treatment rooms adorned with Dior's signature burgundy toile de Jouy motif, offering guests a serene atmosphere to relax and rejuvenate while taking in Scotland's stunning scenery.

The bespoke spa menu will feature three tailor-made treatments designed to meet the specific needs of the train's guests, such as the D-Travel, D-Elements, and D-Highlands treatments.

The D-Travel treatment - lasting either 30 minutes or an hour - is a deep, slow, and soothing massage designed to release muscular tension and eliminate toxins from the body. The D-Elements full body treatment, a one hour treatment, uses semi-precious hot stones and massage strokes to induce a sense of warmth and cooling breeze. Finally, the D-Highlands - also an hour - is a rejuvenating facial treatment utilising the Kobido massage technique and the Dior Prestige line.

The Royal Scotsman has unveiled a new adventure and culinary-focused itinerary for 2023. The Dior Spa Royal Scotsman will complement the train's outdoor wellness activities, such as hiking, wild swimming, and farm-to-table dining.

Michelin-star Chef Tom Kitchin

In September, the train will offer A Taste of Scotland with Michelin-starred Chef Tom Kitchin, a two-night gastronomic journey through the Scottish Highlands. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the region's local produce and enjoy country pursuits at Rothiemurchus Estate, in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Chef Kitchin will showcase his "From Nature-to-Plate" culinary philosophy, which emphasises the use of indigenous Scottish ingredients in his dishes. The itinerary includes a wine masterclass with L'Art du Vin, a barbecue lunch by the Lochside bothy, and an expert-led whisky tasting at the legendary Benromach distillery in Forres. The trip will end with a Gala dinner as the train travels south towards Dundee, with guests enjoying a final breakfast while crossing the Firth of Forth on the Forth Railway Bridge before returning to Edinburgh.
