Air India has deemed its Generative AI virtual agent - Maharaja - a success.
Since it's launch in March 2023, Maharaja has answered 6,000 questions a day to 500,000 customers, in 4 languages (Hindi, English, French and German) within 80 seconds.
It can answer questions on 1,300 topics including flight status, flight changes, packing & baggage allowances, cargo, special needs, awards points, airport lounge access and ticket cancellations/refunds.
Maharaja is the world's first such airline AI system - powered by ChatGPT - aimed to relieve pressure on “human” Air India agents who can then focus on more complex passenger issues.
