SAS confirms SkyTeam from 1st September

SAS has confirmed that it will join SkyTeam on 1st September. SAS had previously announced that it would be leaving Star Alliance on 31st August but had not set a firm date on its full porting over to the rival airline alliance. 

SAS passengers will now get access to over 750 airport lounges around the world and SkyPriority services including priority check-in, boarding and baggage handling.

EuroBonus Silver will be recognised as SkyTeam Elite and Gold/Diamond as SkyTeam Elite Plus. All EuroBonus members will benefit from “earning and burning” points

SAS customers will enjoy easy connectivity across SkyTeam’s network of 1,060+ destinations. SkyTeam members serving SAS’ hubs include Air France, KLM, Delta Air Lines and Middle East Airlines.

Air France-KLM - founder member of SkyTeam - has taken a stake in SAS - following its restructuring.

SkyTeam members include Aerolíneas Argentinas, Aeromexico, Air Europa, Air France, China Airlines, China Eastern, Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Garuda Indonesia, ITA Airways, Kenya Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air, Middle East Airlines, Saudia, TAROM, Vietnam Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and XiamenAir.
