With over 5 million downloads in just three days, the latest Air India inflight safety video that highlights traditional Indian dance is a huge success.
The airlines new campaign titled ‘Safety Mudras" uniquely combines essential safety guidelines with the rich cultural heritage of India.
This innovative video captivates passengers by highlighting the diversity of India’s classical dance forms, intertwined with critical safety information. It creatively incorporates mudras or dance gestures to depict safety instructions across eight traditional dance styles - Bharatnatyam, Bihu, Kathak, Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Odissi, Ghoomar, and Giddha - representing various regions of India.
Each dance style in the video is used to convey specific safety messages in a way that is both engaging and deeply rooted in Indian culture, with the gestures symbolising different aspects of the safety briefing. The video is further enhanced by an original score from renowned singer Shankar Mahadevan.
The video was released on 23rd February on YouTube, marking a significant effort by Air India to engage passengers in a culturally rich and informative safety experience.
